Singapore Airport

Singapore Airport is renowned for being the most beautiful Airport in the World
Plush carpets (yes carpents, not carpet tiles) are everywhere. In contrast to hard floors
it is like walking on freshly mown grass. Or like walking barefoot on a soft Australian beach.

There are a multitude of shops and stores selling many things

Below find the butterfly section. Unfortunately our evening arrival was not
conducive to viewing these magnificent  insects. But a longer stopover
in daylight would be a stop worth making. This is only one area.

Sitting areas: There are plenty of places for weary travellers to sit and relax
while recharging phones and tablets. The seats are soft and carpets plush
its a real relaxing area. Plus behind and near to the window there is a tiled
raised fish pond with Coy Carp swimming. The overhead lighting made clear
pictures imposible. But nonetheless a very relaxing area. We had a five
hour layover and hadn't seen hardly any of the airports other attractions.

Heading for the gates: passing shops you had missed previously.
Yes it's a long way if you are walking. Much easier by electric
people carrier. But for those walking plenty of places to stop for
last minute items of comfort and to stop and have a picture taken
in front of the Angels Wings... see picture below

Gate area: Still the beautiful carpet. Comfortable seating.

Yes the Singapore Airport is a most fantastic place and for the traveller well
worth making a long stop over. No need to get a visa to see the city. The
airport alone has plenty of enjoyable displays. Our return trip was only with
a one hour stop. Yes it was all done very efficiently. But obviously now we
would recommend taking a long stop over in daylight to really enjoy
Singapore Airport and get completely refreshed for the journey ahead.
